--- TODO
- figure out how to password protect a page, so this one can be thrown up but not easily accessible. (this way I can actually read it with web configurations instead of just reading it from vim or the terminal.
- sort list of potentials by most appealing
or RANK / score
- investigate the companies that are offering the service, for vibe.

POTENTIALS

--- BAD TIMING
6/10
(Technology) -- Junior Security and QA Analyst -- [Npower Canada]
15-week program launches low-income, diverse youth (18-29) into IT careers by providing technical and professional skills training (such as IT certifications including Cisco IT Essentials, CCNA Cyber Ops, Certified Ethical Hacker and Microsoft Technology Associate credentials), job placement services and 5 years of career services including mentoring and career development coaching. (Youth 18 29)

--- WEBSITE MISSING DETAILS
5/10 - This one is interesting because it has utility for building the mobile home, potentially for if I end up running a school, or commune or hostel. Also as a job itself I am not sure of "building administration" but maintenance and repair sound like a totally sweet gig. sadly the website did
(Cleaning Maintenance Handy Work Housekeeping) -- Professional Building Management Development Program -- [GTAA]
12-week program prepares people for employment in the field of building maintenance, repair and building administration. It includes basic hands-on training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tiling, painting, locks and janitorial, as well as workshops focused on employability and skill development. This program includes a work experience placement. (All)

4/10 -- (do I get to learn the cool stuff or just the dreadful bureaucracy soft skills?), also I worry about being scrawny when it comes to construction, but mind I could potentially grow into it but I am not looking to throw my back out lifting bags of concrete.
- okay so its cool that its an overview of all the trades, and cool you get to use all the tools, but I can imagine half of it is health and safety. Also unlike security, expect to be getting up at 6am and on the subway everyday.
(Construction/ Trades/ General Labour) -- Tradelinx -- [Labour Education Centre]
12-week program prepares youth (18-29) with the essential skills, workplace communication, math, health and safety, construction certification and wraparound supports to start an apprenticeship in carpentry, construction, ironwork or sheet metal. (Youth 18 29)

JVS

https://www.jvstoronto.org/assessments/
--- QUESTIONS
when it comes to JVS, do I meet the requirements? (Individuals with intellectual disabilities; Individuals with learning disabilities; Multiple challenges (i.e. long-term unemployed, homeless, mental health issues)).

- this one is super cool, hmm.. 7/10?. - it seems like it would be very interesting but my first concern is it potentially being superfluous as I imagine myself fairly knowledgable about my skills, interests, personality and values. I mean through certain lenses at least. But I do recognize there is a good chance I might learn so so much. but I worry I wont and it would be a waste. Maybe I especially know my values and perhaps interests; partially my personality and less so my skills? or a bit for personality?
JVS - Career Exploration and Counselling ::: Career counselling at JVS Toronto will help you identify your interests, skills, personality and values to build a clear picture of what will make you feel happy and fulfilled in your career.
what you get:
A Career Assessment Profile a summary of your skills, interests, personality and values to help you determine what occupations you are best suited for.
Resources and tools to assist you in making informed career choices.
Advice on the education and training required to help you reach your career goals.
Information about specific job and career paths that are realistic, attainable and match your life goals.

- ?/10 - this one seems slightly weaker than Career Exploration. It has some merits the other does not for sure but the other seems wider. Which while lacking perhaps details such as abilities, seems more of an aid for weaving together a quality and meaningful life, rather than focusing too tightly on one strand. Though that strand is one of my weakest so maybe it needs more intensive attention...
Vocational and Psychovocational Assessments
what you get:
A detailed profile of your unique abilities and skills.
A clear understanding of job options that match your aptitudes.
A report that clearly identifies jobs and occupations that match your learning profile.

- ?/10 - this one.. I kinda wish everyone could take. Also the first one. Who knows what could be uncovered here. The risk for this choice is that what if I dont have any disabilities and its a waste of their time/money. Though if they are uncovered.. that could be a serious aid. This could also be a key-ring for learning how to learn. Or learning as appropriate to my constitution. One worry for this choice is that if it is too Psychological, not faith inclusive. I can survive such things but ya know.
- these programs are so effin expensive I dont think I could justify going to something like a psychoeducational assessment, but holy moly I wish I could take them all. Really, I wish everyone could take them. Infact, I will be sure to make them available on my website asap.
JVS - Psychoeducational Assessments ::: A psychoeducational assessment identifies areas of strength and weakness in a students learning profile and provides a deeper understanding of their educational abilities. It can also identify Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities, reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia) and mathematic (dyscalculia) challenges and other mental health issues that can interfere with learning.
You will get:
A clear understanding of you or your childs academic strengths and challenges relating to learning aptitudes, information processing, and academic skills.
The diagnosis of a learning disability, ADHD or developmental disability if present.
An action plan for improving academic performance.
A list of recommended accommodations to seek from schools.
How it works:
Before the first session, we will send you a background questionnaire to complete prior to your assessment.
Cognitive and behavioural testing will examine how you or your child reasons and solves problems, and test their memory and organizational skills.
Examine signs of mental health concerns such as anxiety, stress or sadness.
Academic testing designed to discover academic abilities such as reading, writing and math compared to other students of the same age.
Your final report will be reviewed with you to explain the results and answer any further questions you may have.

12-week program prepares participants who have been distant from the labour market for employment in the food services or horticulture sectors. Graduates may be employed in one of Working for Changes social enterprises. (All)

3/10 - It sounds fun and cool and interesting, and may inspire the urge to work with in a particular field. I dont necessarily intend to work in a backhoe-loader or something but who knows. Heavy Equipment is effin cool.
(Transportation) -- Heavy Equipment Operator -- City Truck & Forklift Driving School Ltd.
5-week program prepares participants for a career as an equipment operator. Participants receive training on an excavator, backhoe-loader and front-end-loader. Graduates may work with construction companies, heavy equipment contractors, public works departments and pipeline, logging, cargo-handling and other companies. (All)

--- TRUCK DRIVING
3/10 - I dont really want to drive a truck, but I am very likely going to be living in a 20 footer. So it could be useful, but I should likely just go the regular route, though this could help me speed up the process immensely and may likely cover all the main costs to I can drive my home thingy. Plus it does open up job possibilities for sure, though driving as a profession I can see it dwindle with self-driving cars, and its time consuming work that requires full attention.

(Transportation) -- AZ Program -- Friendly Truck Driving School
8-week AZ Program provides participants with classroom and hands-on training to prepare them for their AZ road test and employment. Topics include all mandatory elements noted in the Ministry of Transportations Class A Mandatory Entry-Level Training Standard. (All)

Transportation -- DZ Program --Jays Professional Truck Training Centre
4-week program prepares participants for employment as straight truck, delivery truck and fire truck drivers. (All)

--- OTHERS

?/10 (will depend on the website, could be good)
- as a 10 week course it doesnt give much details on the site. The largest detail was also the worst "Participants learn basic computer skills in Windows 10: MS-Word, MS-Excel, Outlook & MS-PowerPoint, Internet and E-mail, no previous computer experience required." yuck. id hope that would only be at most 3 days or something. If basic computer skills are a primary aspect id rank this 1/10, if it is hyper minor I still cant determine because the site gave the same ambiguous amount of information as the OW page.
(Preparing for Employment) -- Career Exploration -- [Fred Victor Centre - Employment and Training]
10-week program provides participants with the tools and resources to increase self-esteem and improve their abilities so they can overcome employment barriers and develop a solid career plan. (All)

3/10
(Cleaning/ Maintenance/ Housekeeping) -- Building Maintenance/ Superintendent Training -- [The Learning Enrichment Foundation]
16-week program provides the skills, relevant certifications, and hands-on experience necessary for employment in building maintenance, as superintendents of rental apartments and condominiums, and in property management firms. Placements include job shadowing in older and new buildings as well as a 2 week job trial. (All)
