PSYCHO THERAPY

What is Big Mind meditation?-
Big Mind is a guided meditation where one learns to identify with different parts of the psyche through voice dialogue. This dissects the ego/self into different selves for the sake of reassembling it afterwards into a healed, happy, effective and cohesive whole free from contradictions. Voices include dualistic (eg desire, fear, the skeptic), non-dualistic (eg Big Mind[nothing], Big Heart[everything]) and more.
The process was created by Zen Master Genpo Roshi based on the voice dialogue psycho therapeutic process by Hal and Sidra Stone. It has Jungian Roots because of its reliance on the concept that all our subpersonalities already exist within us. But these subpersonalities can be disowned if they are seen as bad, subpersonalities such as anger. Then since the voice is disowned I cant acknolwedge that I have it, so I may be bothered by others who are that way, or project my anger since it never disappeared it just went covert.

Why Big Mind?
Big Mind creates harmony amongst the self/ego. This allows for integral action free from internal contradiction within the self, for if voices or identities are fragmented, repressed or difficult to identify with or express then there are limits in what we can identify with (be) and thus do. it is also very powerful to become aware of ever-present forms of Spirit such as the Witness and Casual bodies.
One learns to become aware of them, relate to them, identify as them, think and act as them, relate them, integrate them, and perhaps transcend them on and off the cushion.

- learn to recognize major parts of the self and Self
- learn to reown suppressed voices
- learn to stretch ones capacity to take perspectives through identity

How does Big Mind work?
start simple, its easy and natural.

how to do Big Mind?
Big Mind is best done by having a facilitator ask meditators to call upon these voices within themselves then the facilitator asks them questions to help them embody the voices. It is easy and natural with no experience necessary.

passing through the Gateless Gate

pre voice
i am excited to be fascilitating this Big Mind Meditation today. Its easy and anyone can do it, there should be a 100% success rate, so if anyones get stuck just to let me know.

Ill be calling upon different voices, you wont know who I am asking for at first but will understand as I draw out the voice through questions.

exploring and studying the self

to go beyond the self,

a physical shift.

any insight from today can be deepened through meditation and this method

THE BIG MIND PROCESS

this method is very non-threatening, there is no fighting with the ego, because ill lose, i am going to hire and enlist your egos to work for me

the magic word, please
we love to serve, but we dont like being ordered or demanding

the ego is a guardian that can be limiting,

ask the ego to support us, but never go too far away
the ego can even witness the whole thing
no one has to participate
free to join in or free to just observe
no one is being forced to go into anything or beyond anything that they dont want to.
if you play along, because it is a game and fear comes up, i invite you to let the ego come up and take control again
all the responsibility of getting this im putting on your hands
if your not staying up just let me know, you can wave, wink, stand up, whatever just to let me know your falling behind
because what id like to do is have 100% success here today, if you choose, my feelings wont be hurt, it may not be the right day for you

dissect the self in order to understand the self, and hopefully if we have time we will put it back together. so dissect the self, to understand the self to transcend the self.

have any of you thought about questions like "who am I?" or "what is my True Self?" today we will be investigating why that is. Why it is so difficult to grasp any notion of who we are. we can come up with what I do, but struggle to grasp the self, and this is because the Self is ungraspable, it can be experienced but it is changing too quickly to be held solid. We can experience the ungraspable nature, but we cannot grasp it.

to better work with the different aspects of the self, I am going to give them labels, names, that have been found to work, I will choose a label or name and then ask if I can speak to that voice. this comes from a psycho therapeutic technique called Voice Dialogue by Hal and Sidra Stone. Normally it is done one on one for healing purposes but today's Big Mind is less about healing the psyche and more for bringing about an experience of the transcendent. But i will be using some of the psycho therapeutic voices for the purpose of forming a foundation so that it is easier to integrate the experience later.

when i ask to speak to a specific voice in you, I would like you to shift to whereever that voice is seated, and that voice is seated whereever you shift to. dont worry about shifting into the right spot, it is the shift that is important, not where. the physical shift will help to fascilitate a mental shift, to get you used to shifting your perspective. when we stick to one perspective then our view of life and reality is very one dimensional. there more perspectives we can take, the more awareness then better we can understand or see life and reality. This will help us to see that there is no single right perspective. there is only my perspective.
and we tend to this that it makes it right. each perspective is 100% valid but it is not the only one. this applies alot to relationships, we tend to forget that my perspective is not the only perspective. what is very helpful is to be able to move into someone elses perspective and see it through their eyes. so in doing this we are creating that potential.

so when i ask to speak to a voice, and you shift chances are you may not know what I am asking for, unless youve done this before, still make the shift, then i will ask questions to help you gain insight into your new perspective.

i am going to ask to speak to a voice now, and I would like a clear channel only to that voice. I am seperating you from the self now, i would like to speak to the protector.

from now on i would like you to raise your hand

distance you from the self
your not the self
all these years you were the self now your not.
